Assam Excise Constable Recruitment 2023: Stages of Selection Process
The state of Assam has recently announced the recruitment of 222 posts for the position of Excise Constable, Jail Warder, and Havildar. The selection process for these positions will be conducted in multiple phases, with the first stage being the physical test.
Candidates who have registered themselves for the recruitment before 08 February will be eligible to participate in the physical test. The notification released by the Assam state government clearly mentions that candidates will have to take part in the physical test to qualify for the next stage.
The physical test for the positions of Excise Constable, Jail Warder, and Havildar will be conducted together. The candidates will have to report at the physical ground as per the venue mentioned on their admit card. The physical test for male candidates will be a race of 1600 meters while female candidates will have to undergo a physical test for an 800 meters race.
Candidates who have applied for more than one post among the above-mentioned posts need to appear for the physical test at once. It is important to note that only the candidates who qualify in the physical test will be eligible to participate in the written test.

SLPRB Assam will conduct the written exam for Forest Guard, APFP Constable, Excise Constable, Jail Warder, and others on 09 April 2023. The notification regarding the same has been uploaded on the website slprbassam.in. Admit Card for this exam will be released on 01 April at 5.00. The link to download the admit card is added below.
After the physical test, the candidates who have qualified will be allowed to take part in the written test. The written test will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours and will consist of multiple choice questions. The questions will be based on General English, Elementary Arithmetic, Logical Reasoning/ Mental Ability, and Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy.
Candidates who have cleared the written test will be shortlisted for the next phase, which is the medical examination. In this phase, the candidate’s medical fitness will be examined to ensure that they are fit to take up the position of Excise Constable.
After the medical examination, the selected candidates will have to undergo a final phase, which is document verification. In this phase, the candidate’s documents will be verified to ensure that the information provided by them is accurate.
